AMAYA
OPENED
seventy-five years ago… ¡Many years ago!/h1>
In the middle of spring (May 21, 1941), D. Antonio Mailán Poussin and José Marcé Miquel, came early in a local they had rented weeks before in the middle of La Rambla, to open “their” restaurant. Both had many years of experience, the first as a cook and the second as a waiter.
It has been seventy-five years since then, and the restaurant continues to serve its loyal customers in the usual place: up the La Rambla at number 20, near the monument to Columbus.
It is a traditional restaurant, with Basque and Mediterranean cuisine, owned by Torralba family.
Currently, the restaurant is run by the fourth generation of restaurateurs.
